Tunisair (TU) — the national carrier

Hub: Tunis-Carthage. Network: Paris, London, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Zurich, Milan, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Istanbul, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Casablanca, Algiers, Dakar, Abidjan and many French regional cities. Fleet: Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. Onboard: a snack and a non-alcoholic drink on most short hauls; full meal on long hauls. Baggage: 1×23 kg included on standard fares. Reliability has improved markedly in the last two years.

Nouvelair (BJ) — the Tunisian challenger

A privately-owned Tunisian airline with a strong leisure focus. Year-round service from major French, Belgian, German, Italian and Swiss cities to Tunis, Djerba and Enfidha. Often the cheapest direct option — flash sales drop returns from France to under €100. Baggage: 20 kg checked on most fares; check the fare type. Service is friendly, no-frills, on-time. A fleet of Airbus A320s.

Transavia (TO)

Air France-KLM's low-cost arm. Strong network from Paris-Orly, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille and Montpellier to Tunis, Djerba, Enfidha and Monastir. Bag fees apply. Reliable on-time performance and a generous bring-on-board policy in practice.

Air France, Lufthansa, ITA Airways, Iberia

Full-service options to Tunis from Paris-CDG, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome and Madrid. More expensive but better connection options for North America and Asia. Standard checked baggage included.

Turkish Airlines (TK)

Multiple daily flights from Istanbul (IST) to Tunis. Excellent for connecting from Asia, the Middle East and the US east coast. Generous baggage and meal service even in economy.

Qatar Airways and Emirates

Both fly daily into Tunis from Doha and Dubai respectively — perfect for connections from Asia, the Pacific and the Indian subcontinent. Premium experience with strong economy product.

Low-cost: Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet, Eurowings

Seasonal and route-by-route. Ryanair flies into Tunis from a few European cities; Wizz Air operates Eastern European routes to Enfidha; easyJet and Eurowings serve resort airports through summer. Bag fees, seat-selection fees and strict cabin rules apply — read the small print.

Charter: TUI, Corendon, Condor, Pegasus

Many beach holidays are sold as flight-plus-hotel packages on charter carriers, with NBE (Enfidha) the main destination. If you book the package, you don't see the airline name until late — but service is generally reliable, on-time and bag-inclusive.
