Do I need a visa for Tunisia?
Pick your nationality, your purpose and how long you'll stay — we'll tell you exactly what you need.
A few useful things to know
On arrival
Disembark, walk to immigration. Hand over your passport. The officer asks where you're staying and how long. You'll get a 90-day stamp. No arrival card to fill in.
Tunisian dinar
The dinar is a closed currency — you can't legally take it out. Spend it before leaving, or convert remaining notes at the airport (you'll need your original entry receipt).
Overstaying
Treated seriously: a fine and possible ban. If you plan to stay longer than your stamp, plan a border-run weekend.
Land borders
If you're crossing into Tunisia from Algeria or Libya by road, the rules are the same but procedures slower. Carry printed proof of accommodation and an onward ticket.
