Tunisia sits in a strange sweet spot for the online travel market. It's close enough to Europe to be sold as a package holiday (charter flight + all-inclusive resort), far enough to be sold as an exotic winter escape, and small enough that most 4★ and 5★ inventory is controlled by a handful of large tour operators. Understanding that structure is what separates a good deal from a great one — and it's why the same room can appear at three wildly different prices on the same day.
We have deliberately kept the deals page to three sources: Expedia for hotel-only bookings with loyalty perks, Travelocity for flight-plus-hotel bundles (which regularly beat the same components booked separately by 15–25%), and trivago as a metasearch layer that surfaces the real market rate across dozens of booking sites. Adding more partners doesn't add value — it just adds noise. When three well-chosen sources agree on the lowest price, you can book with confidence.
What we deliberately don't do: aggregator sites that quote unavailable rooms, "flash sale" pages built around fake countdowns, and unlicensed local resellers. Every partner above operates under IATA and ABTA equivalents, publishes their cancellation terms, and is directly responsible if something goes wrong with your booking.
Tunisia has two clear high seasons and two clear bargain windows. Peak is 15 July – 25 August (Mediterranean summer holidays) and the Christmas/New Year week; prices roughly double against the annual average. Shoulder is May–early July and September–early November; the weather is arguably better than peak and prices settle to fair market rate.
The two bargain windows are 15 January – 15 March and 1 November – 15 December. The same 5★ Hammamet beach resort that lists at €280 per night in August will sit at €95–€120 in early February with the same breakfast buffet, the same spa, and 15 °C sunshine. Djerba runs a couple of degrees warmer through winter and is a genuine warm-weather escape without the Marrakech markup.
For any trip involving a resort stay of five nights or more, run the Travelocity package price against the sum of the cheapest flight (on Skyscanner or Google Flights) plus the cheapest hotel (on trivago). In roughly two-thirds of cases the package wins — sometimes by €200+ per person for a family of four. The reason is regulatory: tour operators get pooled inventory pricing that individual bookers can't access.
The exception is short city breaks (2–3 nights in Tunis or Sidi Bou Said). Component booking almost always wins there because there's no charter-flight pooling on scheduled Air France, Tunisair or Lufthansa routes into TUN.
The headline price on any partner site is rarely the price you pay. Before confirming, verify five things: (1) the resort fee — some Djerba and Hammamet properties add €5–€12 per person per day at check-in that doesn't appear in the online total. (2) whether the all-inclusive covers imported spirits or only local ones (it's usually only local — imported gin and single malts are extra). (3) whether transfers are included; a one-way Enfidha airport to Hammamet transfer is €25–€35 privately arranged, €50+ if the hotel books it. (4) the cancellation deadline — refundable rates cost 8–15% more but are almost always worth it for Tunisia given the small but real chance of schedule changes on charter routes. (5) the baggage allowance on the flight leg; TUI, Enter Air and Nouvelair charters often quote a 15 kg checked bag, not the 23 kg you might assume.
Expedia's Rewards programme returns roughly 2% as OneKeyCash across hotel and flight bookings; for a family fortnight it's worth €30–€50. Both Chase Sapphire and Amex Platinum cardholders get extra points multipliers when booking through their travel portals, but check the exchange rate — sometimes the portal price is 5% higher than the direct partner price, wiping out the points benefit. When in doubt, book on the partner site and pay with your best travel card.
If you want to go deeper before booking: our stays hub compares hotels by neighbourhood and travel style, the flights hub lists the cheapest months by origin airport, and the budget planner gives you realistic daily-spend numbers so the "cheap flight" doesn't blow up into an expensive week.
FAQ
Yes — the discounts are set by the partner and displayed on their live site. We only surface offers that are publicly promoted through CJ affiliate feeds. Always confirm the final total on the partner's page before booking.
No. You pay the same price you would on the partner's own site. We earn a small commission from the partner — that's it.
For hotels only, compare trivago (market view) with Expedia (loyalty perks). For flight + hotel bundles, Travelocity packages regularly win. When in doubt, open all three, then pick the lowest final total.
The partner links stay live 24/7; the specific promo % is refreshed whenever the partner updates it — typically weekly.
