A modern, low-traffic airport built specifically to feed the resort coast. From here, Hammamet is 40 minutes away, Sousse 35 minutes, Monastir 50 minutes and Mahdia just over an hour. If you're going straight to a beach hotel, this is the right airport.

NBE is dominated by leisure traffic — Nouvelair, Tunisair, TUI, Corendon, Transavia, Eurowings, easyJet, Ryanair (seasonally), Pegasus, Wizz Air. Year-round routes from Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Vienna and Warsaw, plus dozens of seasonal European cities from May to October. It's a good airport for first-time visitors: arrivals are calm, taxis are well-organised, hotel buses are usually waiting and you're at the pool by lunchtime.

Transfers to your hotel

Hotel shuttle: most all-inclusive packages include this — look for your operator's representative in arrivals. Private transfer (pre-booked): €25–€45 to Hammamet, €40–€60 to Sousse, €55–€85 to Mahdia. Taxi: agree the fare before getting in. Roughly 80–100 TND to Hammamet, 100–130 TND to Sousse. Car rental: Hertz, Avis, Europcar and a handful of local operators on-site. Book ahead in July and August. There's also a louage (shared van) station in Enfidha town, 10 minutes by taxi from the airport, with cheap onward routes to most coastal cities.

Practical info

Single, modern terminal. Immigration is fast — under 30 minutes is typical. ATMs and Ooredoo/Orange SIM stalls in arrivals. A small selection of cafés and shops; nothing remarkable, so eat at the resort. Airport tax and fees are usually included in your ticket. Departures: arrive 2.5 hours before — peak summer queues for security and exit immigration can be long despite the airport's modest scale.
