The cheapest months to fly to Tunisia

Flights to Tunisia swing widely in price — the same Paris–Tunis return can be €90 in February and €290 in August. Here's how to land on the cheap side of that equation, with month-by-month price bands from major European hubs.

Cheap (Nov, Dec excl. holidays, Jan, Feb)

Indicative European return fares: €70–€140. This is the bargain window. Fares from Paris, Brussels, Lyon, Frankfurt, Milan and Madrid drop sharply once school holidays end. The coast is too cool to swim, but the cities and the south are at their best — the desert season runs exactly through these months. Pair a cheap flight with a 4-night Tunis + Tozeur trip and you have a brilliant winter break for under €500 all-in. Avoid the 18 Dec–4 Jan holiday window, when fares climb to summer levels.

Mid (Mar, Apr, May, late Sep, Oct)

Indicative European return fares: €110–€200. The shoulder months are our top recommendation if you want everything: warm sea (May, late Sep, Oct), comfortable city sightseeing, manageable desert temperatures and prices that haven't yet exploded. Late September in particular is gold — kids back at school, sea at its warmest, fares ~30% off August.

Expensive (June, July, August, Christmas/NY)

Indicative European return fares: €180–€350+. Peak European holidays. Book 10–14 weeks ahead to soften the price, fly Tuesday or Wednesday, and consider Enfidha (NBE) over Tunis (TUN) — it's typically €30–€60 cheaper for the same dates because most charter capacity lands there. Avoid weekend departures. If you have flexibility, shifting your trip just one week earlier (mid-June) or later (early September) can save €100+ per person.

Booking tactics that actually work

Lead time: 8–10 weeks ahead is the sweet spot for most routes. Last-minute (under 2 weeks) is rarely cheaper for Tunisia. Day of week: Tuesday and Wednesday flights are typically 15–25% cheaper than Friday or Sunday. Incognito or not: the 'incognito browsing' trick is mostly myth, but clearing cookies before re-searching never hurts. Newsletter alerts: Nouvelair, Tunisair and Transavia run flash sales 4–6 times a year — sign up. Package vs. flight-only: for August beach holidays, a flight + all-inclusive package is often cheaper than the flight alone. Check both.
